It is guaranteed that no Twitter-lead event will get this much print, radio, and TV media attention for a long time. It is important to raise money for Charity: Water. Those involved in the planning of Charlotte Twestival would not have signed on if they didn’t buy into Charity: Water’s cause and organization.
But almost as important as the charity is that there are going to be many eyes on this who do not fully understand Twitter. This is our opportunity to show that - thanks to the power of the connections we make online via Twitter - we can accomplish things in charity, business, and other aspects of life they were not possible before the application.
The Organization Team as put together an event that has enough prizes for a 2,000-person event. There will be DJs, Wii tournaments, media personalities, a professional photographer, and the opportunity to do some great networking.
The Charlotte Twestival Organizational Team has done its job putting together an impressive event. It is now up to you to make it to the event! Tell as many friends as possible, and bring people with you. We are ahead of most cities in the US in tickets sales and we are $3,500 away from our goal.
So on 2.12.09 we look forward to seeing you all at CANS at 7PM!
